Another Map - Showing the region
Collect the Bikes at Chandigarh, try for Manali in one day, it then takes 3 dats to reach Leh the 1st obstical being Rohtang Pass. Keylong is only 80 miles away but will take the full day. Once at Leh the objective of the tour is the highest of them all Kahdung La at over 18,000 ft and back to Leh. From here it all depends on time and how well the bikes and riders are lasting. If all going well we head west to Kargil and beyond, whos knows what will happen and where we end up.

The Leh-Manali Highway is a highway in India connecting Leh and Manali. It crosses some of the highest mountain passes in the world, including Rohtang La (3,978 m, 13,050 ft), Baralacha La (4,892 m, 16,050 ft), Lachulung La (5,059 m, 16,600 ft) and Taglang La (5,325 m, 17,470 ft), and is open only between June and mid-September when snow is cleared from the road by the Border Roads Organisation. It connects the Manali valley to Kullu valley, Lahaul and Spiti and Ladakh.
Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.
