This was my first trip off road a week in the mountains in northern Spain stopping in a lovely village called Potes. A place I have visited twice since with the road bike so it must have impressed me.

The route to Potes was via the Plymouth - Santander ferry (a 24 hour crossing) then a 70 miles drive to Potes. The bikes were transported on a trailer as riding a off road bike on the road on not the best idea of fun.

The trip was organised by Denis Wardle, a well experienced tour organiser and off road specialist, who likes a drop off the old red wine from time to time.
